    MARCH FOR LIFE BUS TRIP
    Erie, PA / Washington, DC
    January 22-24, 2006
    $38.00 per seat
Entire activity requires just over 24 hours!

"Now we're going to march again, and we've got to march again.... For when people get caught up with that which is right and they are willing to sacrifice for it, there is no stopping point short of victory."

-- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., April 3, 1968, Memphis, Tennessee

    Local Participation
People for Life's largest March for Life bus trip in recent years took place in 1998. That year, two hundred area residents traveled with us to Washington to mark the 25th anniversary of Roe v. Wade.

    Arduous Journey
The many hours on the road and on the cold streets of Washington can be exhausting, but through their trials many marchers have gained a new sense of solidarity with the unborn and with the pro-life cause.
You will need to be at the St. George Church parking lot on upper Peach Street, where our Coach USA buses will be waiting, at 11:00 PM, Sunday evening, January 22. Cars must be parked along the northern edge of the parking lot, where they are less likely to interfere with regular church activities.
Our group will disembark in Washington at RFK Stadium around 8:00 AM. The buses will remain parked at the stadium throughout the day, until everyone returns nine hours later, at 5:00 PM.
We will return to Erie around 1:00 AM, Tuesday morning, January 25, 2005 depending on factors such as traffic and road conditions. The bus trip squeezes the entire March for Life experience into a period of only 26 hours!

    Places to Visit
Although united by a common cause, People for Life's marchers are a diverse group, drawn from all across the northwestern Pennsylvania area. Understandably, many of our people break away into smaller groups and spend the morning visiting a variety of attractions in our nation's capitol.
Points of special interest include government sites such as the Capitol Building, White House, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, and Vietnam Wall; the March for Life headquarters and exhibits at the Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill; National Right to Life's new headquarters at 512 l0th Street NW, right across the street from Ford's Theater; and the National Holocaust Museum.

    Looking Out for Each Other
You won't need to worry if you are unfamiliar with Washington or not with a group of friends. Your bus captain will carefully review everything you need to know, and you will be given an opportunity to team up with a small group that will be guided throughout the course of the day by one of People for Life's many March for Life veterans.

Meetings with Sen. Rick Santorum and Rep. Phil English
Rep. Phil English will hold a reception for his constituents from 2:00 PM to about 4:00 PM in the Cannon Caucus Room, which is Room 345 in the Cannon House Office Building.

    Reservations
The cost of a bus seat is still just $38.00. Reservations should be made as soon as possible.

    Sponsorships
A limited amount of sponsorship money is available to help students and others who are unable to raise sufficient funds on their own to pay the full price for a bus seat. To inquire about the availability of sponsorship money, please contact People for Life. If you would like to help sponsor one or more deserving individuals (someone to attend the March for Life in your place, perhaps), this would be very much appreciated!
