Father's Day Demonstration

People for Life will conduct another demonstration (No. 69), on Saturday, June 17, 2000 from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM, opposing the opening of an abortion facility in Erie. The demonstration will take place at the Professional Building, 1611 Peach St., Erie, where Dr. Steven Brigham intends carry out abortions up to the SEVENTH MONTH OF LIFE.

Demonstrations at the Professional Building have usually been planned to last one hour. In recent weeks, however, some demonstrators have been remaining at the abortion facility site for longer periods of time. Some have been staying for an additional hour or more.

Sunday is Father's Day. It is not unusual for fathers to profess neutrality when their partner considers undergoing an abortion. Many fathers say they will "support" whatever choice their partner makes. It is not "supportive" however, to stand by indifferently while a woman one professes to care about is preparing to end the life of her child in an assembly-line abortion mill, risking her own emotional, psychological, and physical well being in the process. This is virtual abandonment, not "support." No wonder a high percentage of intimate relationships break down soon after the woman undergoes an abortion.
