PRESS RELEASE

October 28, 1999

A group of People for Life (PFL) volunteers will meet on Friday, October 29, 1999 for an hour, beginning at Noon, to demonstrate their opposition to the opening of an ABORTION FACILITY in Erie. The location of the demonstration will be 1611 Peach St., Erie, where Dr. Steven Chase Brigham, an abortionist and operator of numerous abortion facilities, has been acquiring office space.

PFL is taking this action for two reasons: (1) to encourage others to pause and think about abortion, what happens to unborn children during an abortion, and the devastating impact that abortion often has on the lives of women who have been subjected to it; and (2) to help the community understand that things won't be the same, once we have a place "where they kill unborn babies."

People for Life President Tim Broderick on Thursday stated, "Public demonstration is a time-honored American tradition and a precious right handed down to us by the founding fathers of our country through the First Amendment. Rights entail responsibilities, and People for Life will exercise its First Amendment rights with full respect for the rights of others. Our purpose is not to disrupt, but to inform, educate, and promote serious discussion about the future of our community." More demonstrations at various times and places are anticipated.
